THE BETTER MAN...

I am the better man I say I am
Born and breed in African
Grew up without a daddy figure
And came from a little home and had a lovely mother
You see, ma story is never going to be a riddle
Just like Adam’s evolution cradle
For my life is going to change like the way K.K. Kabobo changed into an apostle
Oh yeah this is the real gospel
I am the better man I say I am when I look at the contribution of my forefathers
Pioneers and pacesetters who created a path for us follow
After a long struggle shedding blood, tears and sorrow
So that we the future leaders can build a future tomorrow
You see, I am the better man I say I am when all I think about is success being a step away
So I am able and determined to make a journey which I start yesterday
And whenever the sun shines, I don’t forget to make hey
Now I am the better man I say I am when I can clearly differentiate between fried rice and yam
Because I know my forefathers helped build a big farm
A farm in which they cultivated SUCCESS, LOVE, PEACE, UNITY and DETERMINATION
And determination comes when we stop procrastinating, hating, corruption
And welcome motivation so that we can elevate our evaluation
And build a strong and a better nation
We are the colors I see of a brighter future so I will let my words paint our heart
I am the better man I say I am when I am able to stretch my hands out like the ladder
So that the needy can rather
Climb on to the top
You see am trying to paint a perfect picture
So that when we shine, we will never stop
I am the better man I say I am when I am much concerned with the underprivileged, homeless, street children and those who have been deprived of their rights
You see that lady out there who always get raped at night
And that guy out there somewhere who becomes an anti-social vice just so he can survive
So in order for us to be the better man I wanna be
We need to think like the Kwame Nkrumah’s, the big Six, the Yaa Asantewa’s
And the likes of you and me
